Project Management

I have good connections with a team of landscapers, stonemasons and qualified horticulturalists to carry out any construction or specialist work, though I am very much involved in the soft landscaping – preparation of beds and the placement and planting of shrubs and perennials once the site has been prepared. Where a number of gardeners are required e.g. on a large site, I will provide you with qualified, competent and efficient horticulturalists to assist with the planting, soil preparation or laying of turf.

I diligently manage all stages until completion. If hard landscaping or construction work is required, I will visit the site regularly to monitor the progress and ensure that everything is going smoothly and on schedule.

I will keep you updated at all times with clear communication and complete honesty. Issues such as extreme weather can delay progress, plant stock may become unavailable and other challenges may arise. I will always liaise with you, so that you can make informed decisions in order to rearrange plans to suit daily demands.

Proactive project management involves recognizing that glitches can occur at one point or another. The key is to identify the issues in a timely manner, understand the consequences and work out alternate approaches to effectively manage the situation.

Case Studies

Quick Turnover Project

St. Paul’s, Bristol

The brief:A buy to sell quick turnover project with a limited budget. My brief was to remove the existing jungle of weeds and overgrowth, along with years of detritus (household and hazardous waste) and get the garden back to its ‘bones’ in order to make the garden presentable to prospective buyers. The budget given was to include laying of new turf to one side, erect fencing, lay a small patio area and plant in some small evergreen shrubs and grasses. There wasn’t any scope for creative vision, given the timescale and budget but the final transformation was remarkable.

Raised Beds Development

Residential Garden, Bristol

The Brief: To level the site, build two 8’x4’ raised vegetable beds and plant appropriate vegetables. The client wanted gravel to surround the beds and requested the upcycling of bricks on site to be used for marking an entrance to the vegetable garden.
